Ambassador Participates in the 33rd ARF Ministerial Meeting and the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation
Manila, 23–24 July 2026. Ambassador D.Enkhtaivan represented Mongolia at the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting and the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), held in Manila, the Philippines.
During the 33rd ARF Ministerial Meeting on 23 July, Mongolia reaffirmed its steadfast support for ASEAN Centrality and expressed its readiness to contribute to the implementation of the ARF Manila Plan of Action 2026–2036 by sharing its experience in peacekeeping operations, preventive diplomacy, and disaster risk reduction. Mongolia also underscored its commitment to making practical contributions through the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security initiative.
At the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the TAC on 24 July, Mongolia highlighted the Treaty's enduring role as a cornerstone of regional peace, stability, and cooperation over the past five decades. It noted that the Treaty's fundamental principles, including respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and the peaceful settlement of disputes, remain as relevant today as ever. Recalling Mongolia's accession to the Treaty in 2005, Mongolia reaffirmed its continued commitment to these principles and expressed its determination to strengthen practical cooperation with ASEAN and its partners in addressing both traditional and non-traditional security challenges, enhancing climate resilience, and advancing sustainable development, including through cooperation in the lead-up to UNCCD COP17, which Mongolia will host in 2026.
