Mongolia and Indonesia to Strengthen Cooperation in Public Diplomacy

Jakarta, 13 August 2026. Ambassador D.Enkhtaivan met with Ms. Ani Nigeriawati, Director for Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and exchanged views on opportunities to expand cooperation in the fields of culture and public diplomacy within the framework of the 2023 Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Diplomacy and Foreign Relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, in connection with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Indonesia this year, the two sides discussed the possibility of organizing photographic and digital exhibitions at the Museum of the Asian-African Conference in Bandung, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, to showcase to the public the history of seven decades of friendly relations between the two countries.

 

The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation in organizing lectures and interactive sessions at leading Indonesian universities, with the aim of strengthening people-to-people ties, particularly among students and young people, and enhancing knowledge and understanding of Mongolia and Indonesia, their diplomatic relations, foreign policies, history, and culture. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia expressed its readiness to support cooperation in this area.

Mongolia and the Republic of Indonesia established diplomatic relations on 21 December 1956 and are celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026.
